“Then they [the undisciplined mental faculties] took Joseph's (the “will” and “understanding” faculties) coat (mental covering), killed (sacrificed to) a kid (“shiver, fear”) of the goats (“strong, stout”; all “self” reliances) and dipped (“plunged”) the coat (mental covering) in the blood (“astonished, life force”; the mentality of fear (kid) and arrogance (goat)).” (Genesis 37:31)

It is often the co-faculties within (one or more of the twelve) that would attempt to kill (mentally destroy) Yahweh's will and understanding (Joseph, via Ephraim and Manasseh) as the covering over all faculties. For without Yahweh's will and understanding, none of the other faculties could find their way. Order (Zebulun/Yaaqob(James)) cannot work within without Yahweh's will and understanding. Power (Gad/Phillip) turns into tyranny without the will and understanding of Yahweh. The mind's undisciplined faculties, in their yet fully redeemed state, fights against the will and understanding of Yahweh, and as seen, will destroy such if Yahweh allowed it.

The 144,000 understand that to “dip the coat in goat's blood”, is to literally “plunge the totality of one's thoughts into the prideful guidance of the carnal (personal) will”. And specifically, that the “dipping (mind's plunging)” is recognition of the faulty ways of the personal will, but it also is at times to be perceived at mental memorials of remembrance. (Exodus 12:22, Leviticus 4:6-7, 14:16, Numbers 19:18, Deuteronomy 33:24).
